Poas Volcano -Combo Tour is a full day excursion, with this tour you will visit Doka Coffee Estate for a delicious breakfast and learn more about the coffee process, it also includes a visit to the La Paz Waterfall, we are sure that you will enjoy a lot with this tour.
The Coffee Tour will be in an actual Coffee Plantation where we will learn the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce some of the best coffee in Costa Rica and the careful process involved in the cultivation, harvesting and roasting of the Golden Bean.
After the Coffee Tour we will continue to the Poas Volcano where we will not only admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, but also learn about the different ecosystems of this National Park.
The Poás Volcano, is an active volcano of 2,708 metres height (8,885 ft). It has erupted 40 times since 1828, the last major eruption was in February 2019. It is noteworthy that this is one of the most visited Volcanoes in Costa Rica.
Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to the La Paz Waterfall Garden for a scrumptious lunch and tour.
As we arrive to La Paz waterfall, we will walk through a trail, leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park we will also visit the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the bird house, the butterfly garden and the frog’s exhibit.
The total stay at the Poas Volcano National Park will be only 40 minutes: 10 minutes walking on the trek to get to the crater viewpoint, 20 minutes at the crater viewpoint, and 10 minutes walking back. There is no access to Botos Lagoon and in case of fog, there is no extra waiting time.
Due to the altitute and activity of the Poás Volcano, this tour is not recommended to any person with heart conditions, high blood preasure, people who have had a recent surgery, pregnant women or children.
In addition, it is very important also, that in each reservation come both the full name of the tourist and his identification # (cedula or passport)..
