Pick up starts at 06:00am from San José area. Poas Volcano is an active volcano of 2,708 meters height (8,885 ft). It has erupted 40 times since 1828, the last major eruption was in February 2019.
Once we arrive at the Poás Volcano National Park we will head towards a viewpoint from where we will be able to see the main crater which has a small lake at the bottom, this if the weather allows it.Then we will take a path surrounded by nature, we will walk towards the amazing Botos lagoon. During the walk it is possible to see some of the bird species that inhabit the park, as well as small mammals such as squirrels.
After visiting the Poas Volcano, we will head towards La Paz Waterfall and Gardens. Once in La Paz Waterfall you will be able to observe the following: 5 Waterfalls, Hiking Trails, Aviary with Toucans, Scarlet Macaws, Aracaris and many other species, Butterfly Observatory, Capuchin (White-faced) Monkeys, Black-handed Spider Monkeys, Hummingbird Garden with 26 documented species, Serpentarium (Snake Exhibit), Jaguars -Pumas -Ocelots -Margays, Orchid Exhibit.
